The Community Fossil Free Plan (CFFP) was envisioned via Friday's for Future Hamilton students with Ward 3's office championing them. Over summer 2022, Environment Hamilton staff entered and provided support for the plan to develop into a full policy paper that was presented to City Council and other collaborators around Hamilton. It boasts six transformations:

• abandoned oil well stewardship,
• sustainable rental building cooling,
• prioritizing geothermal energy,
• green bonds,
• pipeline taxation, and finally,
• making pipeline information public
