Lynda Lukasik, PhD - Executive Director

In August of 2001, Lynda helped to create Environment Hamilton.  She is currently focused on advocating for improvements to local air quality through Stack Watching, Dust Busting, and in her role as co-chair of the provincial Ministry of Environment's External Working Group for Regulation 419 - Local Air Quality. Lynda also serves as the watchdog of the provincial Environmental Bill of Rights registry, making others aware of important permit and policy postings and ensuring Environment Hamilton is actively engaged in commenting on these applications. 

Lynda has a PhD in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Waterloo.   She has taught environmental planning and policy courses at Athabasca University, the University of Toronto, the University of Guelph, and Ryerson University, and is currently teaching an environmental policy inquiry course in the Arts & Science Program at McMaster University.

Beatrice Ekoko - Project Manager, Friendly Streets, Lighthouse Project, Benchmarking Project, Pollinators Paradise Project

Beatrice is a long-time environmental justice advocate. She has been working with Environment Hamilton since 2007 on files that include active transportation, energy conservation, renewable energy, Greenbelt protection, greening faith communities, pollinator habitat promotion and more.

Beatrice is a lover of vibrant cities, diverse cities, fun cities, beautiful cities, nature in cities, cities with great transit, cities for people. Her vision is to see Hamilton become that city.

Juby Lee - Project Manager, Good Food Box, Trees Please!, Pollinators Paradise Project

Juby has been with Environment Hamilton since 2007 working on a number of projects. She started as an summer intern on the Dundas Trees Count and has worked on a number of initiatives including local food, transit, trees and air quality.
When not working, Juby can be found volunteering, making food and eating.

Ian Borsuk - Climate Campaign Coordinator

Ian is the Climate Campaign Coordinator, and is passionate about advocating for a resilient and adaptable Hamilton in the face of a changing global climate through good municipal policy on transit, green infrastructure, and more. Ian is deeply invested in empowering others to engage with local governance. He can also be found wearing other hats organising and taking action beyond his work at EH on issues of environmental, economic, and social justice.
